An Important Update on the Opening of the New Silver Harbour Seniors’ Activity Centre (July 23, 2026)

We look forward to welcoming you to the new Silver Harbour Seniors’ Activity Centre. However, while construction is now in its final stages, a small number of critical items related to building safety and accessibility must be completed before the facility can fully open for regular programming.

As a result, the FULL opening of the new centre has been delayed and is now anticipated to occur shortly after mid-August. The Silver Harbour building will not be open on Sat July 25 during the HJCRC Opening Celebration, but we’ll have an information table outside our lower entrance doors, near the Harry Jerome plaza.

We understand this news is disappointing and appreciate your patience as we work to ensure the building is safe, fully accessible, and ready to provide the high-quality experience you deserve.

In the meantime, Silver Harbour, the City of North Vancouver, and the North Vancouver Recreation Commission are working together to develop an interim plan that will allow some programs and services to begin before the full facility opens. Additional information about these interim programming opportunities will be shared as soon as details are confirmed.
